Gurning for Gold

Had I but world enough and time, I would have liked to attempt an homage to Picasso’s ‘Gurnica’ (sic), and the mental image of Donald Trump as The Ugly Duchess continues to haunt my reveries. The images below are the fruits of my labour to date. They will be hanging at the Ocean Suite in Exmouth from March 6th-11th of 2018, alongside the work of 70 other diseased minds. They’ll be available for sale, but I have also produced a limited run of 200 roughly A4 prints for each piece. You can buy these from me at £10 a pop.

Welcome Mat.

Welcome. Kick off your shoes. Come in and have a rummage.

If everything goes to plan, you should be able to find examples of my painting, illustration and self-publishing misadventures wafting around on this site before too long. It may also become a dumping ground for random rumination and half formed doodles. It all depends.

Portrait of a Grotesque Old President- a Work in Progress

How do you cope when you despise someone to the point where they impinge on your consciousness with alarming frequency, but you are powerless to remove them as an irritant, partly because they live in another country, and partly because they are the President of the United States of America? It’s a puzzler that has afflicted many a woolly liberal head over the past couple of years, and it shows no sign of resolving itself any time soon. So what to do?

The Best Money I Ever Spent

Did you ever have a truly inspirational art teacher at school? That special someone who taught you all the foundations you still use in your work today? Someone who demystified the impossible process of getting your glorious visions onto the canvas without the agony of watching them turn them into plop?

Lucky you. I didn’t.
